Marriott Resorts in Hawaii

I just did an extensive training learning about some of the differences on a select number of Marriott Resorts in Hawaii. I’m a big fan of the Marriott brand and have stayed at many of these resorts.  Here’s the rundown of some of the features of these resorts.

Ohau Marriott Hotels

JW Marriott Ihilani in Ko Olina

marriott ko olina resort
This property  is next door to Disney property. It’s geared toward honeymooners or older crowd, but not so much of a family resort.  The rooms are large with extra room unlike Waikiki hotels.  They have a single circular pool but most people just swim in the amazing ocean coves.  There are 4 man-made coves along the beach and have a breakwater deepest point around 4 feet tall. They are all about 5 walking minutes apart. 85% off the rooms have an ocean views. I have walked through this hotel at Christmas and the decorations were breathtaking as well as the views. We ate dinner in an outside restaurant and walked along the gorgeous covers.

Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

marriott resort waikiki hawaii
This resort is across from the beach in Waikiki. 80% off rooms have ocean views. Their rooms are clean and calm looking. This resort is  most known for the “family room”.  They can sleep up to 6 in one room and many have 1 queen bed, 2 doubles and a single bed.  You can all stay in one room on a request basis.  They have around 32 of these “family” style rooms.  This resort has 2 pools.

Kauai Marriott Resorts

Kauai Beach Resort

This resort is located in Lihuie on Kalapaki Beach and is a protected beach for swimming.  They just had major renovations.  This is a great location for business and family travelers alike.  Their pool is one of the largest family-friendly pools in Hawaii.  I’ve eaten at their fabulous buffet.

Maui Marriott Resorts

Maui Courtyard

courtyard Marriott resort
The Courtyard is near airport and next to Costco. This hotel is best when you arrive late and or need to leave early for a flight and may just need a one night stay.  They have free shuttle to and from the airport.   It’s a new hotel with a fire pit and pool.

Wailea Beach Resort & Spa

This hotel has lots of lawn space. This resort is in an amazing location next to some of the most expensive resorts in Hawaii. However, their prices are really great!  Their oceanfront deluxe rooms are closest to the ocean out of any in Hawaii. it’s also in a great whale-watching spot.
They have simple rooms with tile floors and will be renovating in 2015. This property has 5 pools, an adult infinity pool, kids area pool, private cabana you can rent for private meals for proposals, etc. They have 2 beaches on either side of the resort within 5 minutes walking. I stayed at this resort the first time I went to Hawaii and the location is amazing!  This is some of the best snorkeling we have experienced in Hawaii.

Big Island Marriott Resorts

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort

This big island resort is  going through renovations.  Most beds face the glass door to the ocean. They have 3 pools, a kids sandy bottom pool, and water-slide pool, 2 ancient Hawaiian fish ponds. I have stayed at this resort and thought the rooms were quite large. My kids loved the stay and it was central to all thing we wanted to do.

All resorts in Hawaii charge daily resort fees. For the Marriotts, these range from $25-$35 for at all properties except JW in Ko-Olina – you also have an extra fee for parking.
The resorts also have fabulous spas and restaurants.

When I book your resort, I often can include various extra amenities which are free to you, but exclusive when you book through a travel agent.
